This is one of my earlier sculptures, of a squirrel I discovered in a nature book of creatures nearing extinction. I had never seen such a tiny squirrel and wanted to pay lovely homage to him. His belly has a completely freeform design reminiscent of Art Nouveau, acknowledging the wildness of this little creature.
